The Town Council approved an operating agreement between Waveny Park Conservancy and the Town of New Canaan during its meeting of Nov. 19.

Waveny Park Conservancy is an incorporated, non-profit organization established in July with the purpose of working with the Town, identifying projects to improve Waveny Park, raising private money for the projects, and then undertaking the projects and making the improvements.

The agreement calls for all planned improvements to be approved by relevant Town bodies, as the Town retains ownership and “absolute control” of the site between the Merritt Parkway and Farm Road, according to Bob Seelert, Waveny Park Conservancy chairman, who spoke to the Council before its vote on the agreement.
