The Waveny Park Conservancy and the Town of New Canaan have engaged local contractor Fortino Escalante to reset the bluestone walkways around the Fountain, in the Parterre Garden and down the hill towards the Sledding Hill and Pond.
“Over the years, the flagstones have shifted and lifted,” said Stephen Boeschenstein, the Chairman of the Waveny Park Conservancy. “As a result, we face dual problems of unsafe and unsightly pathways, which is less than ideal especially given the Town’s renewed focus on re-branding the house for wedding events. He went on to say “The impetus for the project was at the instigation of Bill Brock who also provided a generous donation alongside the Anderson Foundation and Town funding. It already looks much better and we are also excited to see the fountain, itself refurbished!”
